Bless Philadelphia is truly a collaboration of friends, neighbors and community leaders from a variety of professional backgrounds and experiences. We believe that collaboration among community members seeking the good of their own communities is the most effective place to spark long-term positive change. Hello! My name is Mary Fox and it is a tremendous blessing and honor to be serving as the Executive Director of Bless Philadelphia!
Having grown up as a missionary kid in both Peru and Ecuador, I returned to the United States to study social work at Messiah University in PA. It was there that I met my wonderful husband and best friend: Pete. After moving to Philadelphia in the winter of 1997, I was able to attend graduate school at Temple University and gain valuable experience working in the social work field here in the city.
Pete and I are blessed to have 4 wonderful sons, ages 13-21 and continue to live, work, play and worship here in this city that has become near and dear to our hearts.
In addition to serving with Bless Philadelphia during any given week, you can also find me at Laura H. Carnell Elementary School as a member of their social work team, teaching Spanish to children, watching my boys play soccer, baking, writing good old-fashioned pen & paper letters, walking my dog Hoagie, working in my garden, reading Agatha Christie or watching classic films from the early 1900’s.
Having known Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior since the age of 8, I am excited to be a small part of what God is doing here in Philadelphia. I look forward to meeting and serving alongside of you!
